Dear Resident,
Mountsorrel Beat Team Weekly UpdateThis week has seen the Mountsorrel Beat Team supporting both local neighbourhood policing and response colleagues across a variety of incidents and ongoing community concerns.
Last Saturday, the Beat Officer spent much of the shift assisting response officers. This included attending a report relating to neighbour issues within the village, where enquiries remain ongoing. Officers also attended a report of a suspected burglary. Following local enquiries and discussions with neighbouring residents, the circumstances were established and the incident was resolved. Later in the shift, the Beat Officer assisted a colleague with concerns for the welfare of a female, resulting in a crime report being recorded and subsequently dealt with.
The team has also continued to focus on local priorities within the village. Work remains ongoing to tackle reports of anti-social behaviour and identify opportunities to prevent further incidents from occurring.
As speeding remains a key Beat priority, officers carried out speed checks on Halstead Road this week. During the operation, almost 50 vehicles were observed and we are pleased to report that all motorists were complying with the speed limit and driving appropriately.
We are regularly approached by residents who tell us that vehicles only slow down because officers are present. While this may be the case, that visibility is one of the reasons these checks are conducted. By carrying out high-visibility speed enforcement, we encourage drivers to consider their speed, promote safer driving habits, and improve safety for everyone using our roads. Our aim is not only to identify offences but, more importantly, to prevent them from happening in the first place.
Thank you to everyone who continues to engage with the team and report matters affecting our community. We will continue to patrol the village, address local concerns, and work with our partners to keep Mountsorrel a safe place to live, work and visit. If you have concerns about crime, antisocial behaviour, or road safety in your area, please report them via our website or by calling 101. In an emergency, always dial 999.
Kind Regards Mountsorrel Beat Team | ||
